On September 27, the five-day flagship exhibitions of the 25th China International Industry Fair (CIIF)— the Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show (MWCS) 2025 and Industrial Automation Show 2025 (IAS)—successfully concluded at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
This edition of CIIF featured nine themed exhibition areas, bringing together over 3,000 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions, including Germany, Japan, the U.S., and France, among others. During the exhibition, nearly 300 new products made their global debuts and nearly 200 were unveiled for the first time in China, comprehensively showcasing the vitality and cutting-edge trends in the industrial technology sector. By 14:00 on the closing day, the event had welcomed 224,000 professional visits from 133 countries and regions worldwide, an 11% increase compared to the previous edition.

Stepping into the Industrial Automation Show Hall was like entering a live show of a future factory—industrial robots and motion control systems worked in sync, with Artificial Intelligence, industrial Internet, and digital twin technologies seamlessly integrated, vividly demonstrating the leap from automation to intelligentization.
As global digital transformation enters a deeper phase, overseas companies are creating new growth opportunities for their software businesses by deepening their presence in the Chinese market and enhancing local cooperation. During the event, Siemens signed contracts on-site with nearly 40 companies. The company's booth was crowded and buzzing with excitement. Xiao Song, Chairman of Siemens China, noted, "The successful implementation of Industrial AI starts with the precise identification of application scenarios and is achieved by deeply integrating technology, data, and industrial mechanisms."
Festo made its IAS debut with the BionicBee, highlighting its latest breakthrough in bionic robotics. According to its booth staff, this is the most compact flying object so far within Festo's Bionic Learning Network, demonstrating not just technology but Festo's innovative spirit of drawing inspiration from nature and constantly pushing engineering boundaries with advanced concepts.
At Beckhoff's 300-sqm booth, the TwinCAT CoAgent intelligent agent and the MX-System control cabinet-free solution stood out as the key highlights. The former integrates advanced generative AI models with custom-developed AI agents, while the latter marks the first realization of control cabinet-free automation of equipment and systems.
Ms. Wang Yingzi, Senior Vice President of Bosch Rexroth's Factory Automation Products business in China stated, "Bosch Rexroth is not only a witness to the development of smart manufacturing in China but also a driver of and a participant in the process. Our continued presence at CIIF not only demonstrates our technological strength and industry standing but also showcases our long-term commitment to growing alongside China’s manufacturing industry." Her remarks echoed the shared vision of many exhibitors to expand their presence and jointly build an intelligent future through the IAS platform.
Michael Galler, COO of Rittal Asia, emphasized the critical importance of the Chinese market to the company's global strategy. The launch of the new generation RiLineX power distribution platform in China marked a significant milestone for the company. This platform, offering enhanced safety, efficiency, and convenience, helps customers advance their digital and green transformations.
Such technological demonstrations reflect the company’s solid efforts in achieving innovative breakthroughs. "Intelligentization simplifies manufacturing—not by making the manufacturing sector do less work, but by having more tasks handled by AI or machines, namely intelligent equipment capable of learning and thinking," said Zhu Xingming, CEO of INOVANCE. At IAS 2025, INOVANCE not only demonstrated full-stack independent development from underlying components to top-level platforms but also broke through technical barriers to achieve language unification across different technical domains.
New pneumatic and sensing products launched by AirTAC received significant attention from visitors on-site. "The booth traffic and visitor quality far exceeded our expectations; we had a very busy scene on-site," said Yang Ruirong, Vice General Manager of Sales of AirTAC (Jiangsu) Automation Co., Ltd. He added that the company is integrating product lines, building comprehensive solution systems, and promoting the development of domestic substitutes for core components, aiming to provide customers with differentiated innovative and value-added services.
In the industrial sector, data acquisition relies not just on single perception technologies like visual or auditory perception technology, but requires building comprehensive perceptual capabilities to better support continuous optimization of decision-making. A representative from Hikvision said that over the past 20+ years, Hikvision has expanded from visible light perception to infrared, millimeter-wave radar, X-ray, and acoustic wave perception technologies, and integrated AI in IoT sensor systems to support countless industries in collecting IoT data and implementing intelligent applications.
IAS 2025’s international influence has expanded further. The Saudi exhibition group made its debut, showcasing achievements in Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing under its "Vision 2030." On September 25, Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, led a delegation to visit several exhibition booths, fully affirming China's industrial innovation capabilities. He stated that the Saudi government highly values industrial cooperation with China, welcomes more Chinese companies to invest in Saudi Arabia, and is willing to provide a better business environment for Chinese companies. He expressed his desire to deepen cooperation in advanced manufacturing, petrochemicals, electric vehicles, AI, biopharmaceuticals, additive manufacturing, and other sectors, and to explore collaboration paths in innovation, entrepreneurship, talent cultivation, and capacity building.
MWCS 2025: Gathering Precision Tools & Showcasing “The Pillars of a Great Power”
At Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show 2025, global industry giants stunned the audience with their latest models, attracting professional buyers to witness firsthand how laser technology completes the entire process from cutting, welding, and marking to additive manufacturing at "light speed”.
Trumpf made a strong appearance with premium products such as the TruLaser Weld 5000 and the China debut of the TruBend Center 7030. Dr. Gang Yang, President of Trumpf China, said, "MWCS is a grand annual event in the sheet metal industry and one of the most important gatherings in China's metal processing calendar. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Trumpf China's cooperation with Hannover Milano Fairs. AMADA expanded its booth size and focused on the global debut of its new pulse cutting high-speed CNC band sawing machine, the PCSAW430AXII. Salvagnini's P-Robot solution integrated with the RVS system, combining 3D vision and AI algorithms, provided customers with fully integrated smart factory solutions.
Bystronic, a long-time participant at MWCS, introduced multiple heavyweight new products all at once. Song You, Ph.D, President China & APAC Bystronic Group, noted that while Bystronic previously focused on introducing foreign technologies to China for localization, it has now achieved high-level independent innovation and continues to tap into market potential through its DNE LASER brand. "Participating in CIIF every year has become a tradition for Bystronic China.
